Pricing 2009
You will be pleased to learn that to help you all in the downturn we are committed to freezing our pricing for at least the first six months of 2009. There will be no traditional price increase in manuals and materials in the New Year, and that the current 2008 prices will be maintained.
Credit Crunch
What does the credit crunch mean for you and your business? Many people are cutting expenditures. Many organisations are focusing on conserving cash, improving efficiency and reducing costs. This may be enough for survival but it is not a formula for success. The businesses that benefit from the recession will be those that find new and better ways to meet customer needs. A recession produces opportunities as well as threats. The agile organisation that can add value in new ways will emerge stronger. Cost cutting is important but not sufficient. The need for innovation allied with sensible risk management has never been higher.
“If you keep doing what you are doing you will keep getting what you have got”!! That might have been adequate or even good six months ago. That is not the case now and certainly won’t be in 2009. Never more has innovation and creativity been essential to economic survival, it is no longer a luxury.

2009 The European year of Creativity and Innovation
The European Commission welcomes the news today that the European Parliament, meeting in Brussels, has announced that 2009 be designated as the European Year of Creativity and Innovation.
We will facilitate creativity-training events throughout 2009 based on Edward de Bono and his creativity techniques. The Holst Group were Edward’s first Partner in Europe and we along with Edward will be supporting this EU initiative. There will be several events throughout 2009 and more details will be announced shortly. Hopefully, Edward will also be participating in some of the events. We will keep you up to date with further developments as soon as possible.

Edward’s new book is now available. It can be bought on line at Amazon; it is also in the major bookstores. Waterstones have it in their 20% off collection for Christmas. Not a bad idea for a Christmas present for someone?
